About

Robert graduated from Ohio University with a BS in Telecommunications and a minor in Technical Theatre. While attending undergraduate school he was employed by Ohio University Telecommunications Center (WOUB - PBS) which services Southern, South Eastern, and Eastern Ohio with two television stations and six radio stations.

During his three years of employment at WOUB, Robert was one of eight Master Control Engineers and had duties that included, but were not limited to: operation of studio cameras, production switchers, audio mixers, teleprompters, and gfx servers; operation of master control switcher, automation system, tape decks, production media servers, and camera control units; operation of analog and digital television transmitter sites for both television stations, all six radio station transmitter sites, and a cluster of satellite receivers; completing EAS reporting, FCC transmitter reporting, and FAA tower maintenance reporting.

Through college, Robert freelanced a number of high-profile projects in the Columbus area. He assisted a handful of touring musicals with sound engineering, was sound designer and engineer for a local performance of Carmina Burana and a couple local High School's musicals, and was sound designer and engineer for a local performance by Mickey Rooney (The Wizard of Oz). He has also continued to do similar work since.

During Robert's last year at Ohio University, he also completed an internship at WBNS10TV in Columbus, Ohio in their production and operations departments. Robert was in studio, control room, engineering, and remote microwave trucks. He received academic credit from Ohio University for his completion of the program at WBNS.

Upon graduation from Ohio University, Robert found that the Columbus, Ohio and surrounding area's markets we're stagnant regarding employment opportunities in the broadcast engineering field. He secured employment as a web designer for a Columbus, Ohio based software company. After about a year, he found that he had out-grown the work they had available for him and Robert started up his own software / web development business. He co-owned the new startup and performed the duties of treasurer, business manager, web designer, and IT consultant. After a successful year sprint from a two man partnership to a five person, nearly half million dollar company, Robert parted ways in order to move to Greenville, NC and be with his fiancé.

Robert has since started his own new company to accommodate the several clients who wanted to follow him. He is, however, currently seeking part-time employment or freelance media-related work in the Greenville area. He is open to a wide variety of tasks because of his diverse background in theatre, video production, broadcast engineering, web design, and IT support.
